Bio

George Jr. married Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Susan Mobley. George and Elizabeth had 5 or 6 children; 5 children lived to be adults. That they had a 6th child (Cynthia Ann) is not a settled issue based on available information/documentation. Noted Hart County Historian Judge Roy Cann suggested that there may not have been a 6th child. He wrote in part when naming the children of George and Mary, "… and possibly a Cynthia." At this time no documentation has been found to resolve this issue; certainly the lack of records during this period may make it impossible to resolve. The lack of records of an adult Cynthia Coats could be an indicator that she could have died at a relatively young age.
