Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent October 1986 Grace L. Valasek, 82, of ..., died Sunday, Oct. 26. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. George Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery... Mrs. Valasek was born June 1, 1904, at Shelton, the daughter of William and Edith Kappler Crooks. She received her education in California and Arizona. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Eagles auxiliary, the American Legion auxiliary and the Colonial Club. She also had been active in the Grand Generation Center. Survivors include a son, Donald Zlomke of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Elaine Olson of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Harold (Joan) Charron of Ravenna, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Aubrey and Dean Zlomke.
