Edward "Eddie" Raymond Smajstrla, 58, of Alvarado passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Service: 12:30 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land Fort Worth. Eddie was born in Fort Worth on Nov. 8, 1955, to Robert and Doris Smajstrla. He was a retiree of the H-E-B school district. Eddie was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer. Survivors: Both parents; brothers, Bobby, Mark and Rick; sisters, Nina and Suzanne; longtime companion, Susan; and a host of other family and friends. Published in Star-Telegram on June 8, 2014
