WALTER W. ROCHEN, age 67, of Rosenberg, died Saturday, September 19, 1998 in Fredericksburg, Texas. He was born Dec 16, 1930 in Waller, Texas. He served as a U.S. Marine and worked as an Engineer Technician for the Texas Highway Dept. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg and served as co-captain of the ushers at the church. He was a member of the K.O.C., V.F W and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Bessie Rochen of Rosenberg; sons Michael Edward Rochen of Rosenberg, Andrew John Rochen of Cedar Creek, and Mark Walter Rochen of Rosenberg; daughters, Sharon Rochen of Richmond and Michelle Gubbels of Wharton, two brothers, George Rochen of Hitchcock and Leon Rochen of Houston, sisters. Sophie Granowski of Hempstead, Agnes McDonald of Brookshire, and Lillian Werner of Hockley; six grandchildren, and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Rose Rochen. Visitation begins 5:00 p.m. Tuesday with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Home in Rosenberg, Texas. The funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1416 George St., Rosenberg, with the Rev Dan Warden officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery Memorials may be made to "Keep the Vision Alive" at Holy Rosary Catholic Church or to any charitable organization.
