Funeral and Obituary Notice printed in Tyler Morning Telegraph Tyler,Texas In Memoriam Entered Into Eternal Rest June 27, 1974 J.T.Slatter Rites Today Funeral services for James Thomas Slatter, 76, of 1329 E. Houston, Tyler, will be held at Burks- Walker-Tippit Chapel with the Rev. Dan Bynum officiating. Interment will be Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr.Slatter died Thursday afternoon in a Tyler hospital after a lenghty illness. A native of Texas, Mr.Slatter had resided in Tyler for the past 18 years. He was the retired track inspector for the Santa Fe Railroad and a member of St.Paul's United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs.Mary Beard Slatter of Tyler; two sons, Airal V. Slatter of Longview and Quinton B.Slatter of Garrison; three daughters, Mrs. Rita Welch of Houston, Mrs. W. Whitlock of Silsbee and Mrs. C. R. Conway of Center; a step-son, Horace Beard of Longview; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be James E.Welch, Lewis Kim Welch, George A. Whitlock, David W. Whitlock, Airal V. Slatter Jr., Quinton B. Slatter Jr., and Rondel S. Slatter. ( Mr. Slatter was a very well respected Clocksmith in the Tyler area.)
