Mary Alberta Stricklin 1924 - 2014 Obituary Condolences Mary Alberta Stricklin Obituary Mary Alberta Stricklin, 90 years of age, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, in Richland Hills at home surrounded by family. Funeral: Was at 11 a.m. Saturday in Slay Memorial Funeral Chapel in Aubrey with Wynn Guinn leading the service. Interment: Pilot Point Community Cemetery in Pilot Point. Visitation was at 10 a.m. Saturday in Slay Memorial Funeral Center Chapel. Services were under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey. Pallbearers were Curtis Rodgers, James Curtis Rodgers, Britton Eason, William Hanlon, Steven Guinn, Ryan Guinn, Kevin Oviatt, Robert Finney and Forrest Chung. Mary was born April 11, 1924, in Fife to Stella C. Milsap Forrester and Rockey W. Forrester. She married Troy Stricklin on May 30, 1941, in Denton and was married for 71 years. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederate and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Mary will always be remembered by her family as a loving mother, wife and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Stricklin; parents, Stella and Rockey Forrester; grandson, Billy Troy Hanlon; brothers, Charles Forrester, William Forrester, James Forrester, Rockey W. Forrester and Authur Ragland; and sisters, Ima Faye Stillwell, Nova Nell Austin, Evelyn Dean and May Bell Forrester. Survivors: Daughters, Cherry Farrar of Richland Hills and Sharon Hanlon and husband, William, of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Forrester of Gun Barrel City; and sister, Dorothy Dell Chung of Luxington, N.C.
