George Washington Taylor, born 11 April 1872 in Combs, Madison County, Arkansas, died 12 October 1956 in Henderson, Rusk County, Texas. He is buried at Henry's Chapel Cemetery, about seven miles out Highway 13 from Troup, Texas. The cemetery is next to Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church. George W. was married twice and had children with both wives. First wife was Mary Ella Richardson. Second wife was Julia Elvira LaFaitt. There is a double red granite headstone for G.W. and Julia L. Taylor, with birth and death dates for both. ∼ George Washington Taylor and Julia Elvira Lafitte Taylor share a common headstone in Henry's Chapel Cemetery, Troup, Texas, on Hwy. 13 between Troup and Carlisle. Julia is the second wife of George W., his first wife being Ella Richardson.
