Bio
Harold L. Ward was born May 10, 1932 and passed away peacefully on May 29, 2014. For a quiet man of few words, he touched many lives. He served as a police officer for many years and retired from the Farmers Branch Police Department in 1986. He worked at Capps Van Rental for 19 years until his retirement in 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Lula Ward, and his wife, Virginia Ward. He is survived and fondly remembered by his family and many friends including his children; Wanda Ortiz and husband Ramiro, Casey Ward and wife Gail, Cindy McNeill and husband Randy, and Kimberly Ellis and their mother, Sherry Solomon; his brothers and sisters; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and his companion and caregiver, Ina Hammond and her granddaughter, Lacey, whom he loved and cared for as one of his own. A visitation will be held, Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. The funeral service is Monday, June 2, 2014 at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas. Rev. Fr. Binu Mathews officiating.
