RUEDELL MUESSE SMITHEY, 83, of Bellmead, passed away Thursday, Aug 19, 2004 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Smithey was born Jan 23, 1921 in Bynum, Texas. She worked at General Tire and Rubber Co. in her early years and was then a Home Health Care Provider for many years. She eventually went to work at LaVega ISD in the cafeteria until retiring in 1989. Mrs. Smithey was a member of Sparks Memorial Methodist Church where she was very active with the Adult Bible Study groups and the Methodist Women's groups. She was an avid "42" player. Her husband, Isaac Hessel Smithey preceded her in death in 1979. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Gail Hale of Odessa; sons, Leonard Craig Smithey of Chalk Bluff and Rodney Wayne Smithey of Kentucky; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren' and several nieces, nephews and cousins. -- Waco Tribune Herald
