Anton John Janca Sr. Funeral services for Anton John IA.J.) Janca Sr., 77, will be held at noon today In St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. John DeForke officiating. Burial will be In Calvary Cemetery. The rosary was held at 7:30 last night. A resident of Galveston for 51 years, Mr. Janca died Thursday in John Sealy Hospital. He was horn May 2, 1901, in Pribor , Czechoslovakia. Mr. Janca owned the A.J. Grocery Store and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, RVOS Association and the Texas Retail Grocery Association. Survivors include his wife, Lydia; daughters, Mrs. George (Sophie) Siller of La Marque, Mrs. Frank {Lydia Agnes) Scianna of Bogalousa, La.; sons, Frank Janca of Topeka, Kan., and A.J. (Tony) Janca Jr. of Shreveport, La.; son-in-law, Leray Niekamp, Clute, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Zofie Jachanova of Olomouc, Czechoslovakia, and Mrs. Alosie Bohumski of Pribor, Czechoslovakia; brother, Josef Janca of Pribor, Czechoslovakia; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Louis Pish, Joe Matal, Edward Zissa, George Siller, Frank Scianna, Leray Neikamp and David Wren. Visitors may call at Malloy and Son Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be sent to the Rose Marie Janca Scholarship Fund at O'Connell High School or to St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Galveston Daily News Nov. 4 1978 Antone J. Janca Antone J.
