Dallas Morning News 30 Apr 1960 Mrs. Julia Kirkland Funeral services for Mrs. Julia S. Kirkland, a Dallas resident for the last four years, will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday in Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Chapel in Mesquite. The Rev. Steve Philpot, pastor of the Westglen Baptist Church in Dallas, will be officiate, assisted by the Rev. L. L. Shoptaw. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery in Mesquite. Mrs. Kirkland died Thursday in a Dallas rest home. Since coming to Dallas she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. W. Jack Lindsey of 9722 Twin Creek. She was a native of Mesquite, and lived there until moving to Terrell in 1926. Since 1928 she had lived in Fort Worth and Houston, coming to Dallas in 1956. She was a member of the Westglen Baptist Church and of the Blue Bell Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Houston. Other than her daughter, she is survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
