Thanks to contributor #48796369; DONOVAN GIFT Donovan Lewis Gift, 95, of Broken Bow, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Sandhills Manor Nursing Home in Broken Bow. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Custer Center Cemetery near Broken Bow. The Rev. Cliff Reynolds will officiate. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Mr. Gift was born Sept. 17, 1904, west of Broken Bow to Lewis and Lula Belle (Russom) Gift. He attended the Belle School west of Gates. After his schooling he farmed with his father in the Lillian, Comstock and Sargent areas in Custer County. On June 28, 1927, he married Margaret Schroeder at Broken Bow. They farmed in the Lillian, Sargent and Comstock areas before retiring and moving to Comstock. They then moved to Broken Bow and lived at Regency Place, later moving to Sandhills Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Gift died in January 2000. Mr. Gift enjoyed coyote hunting. Survivors include one son, Darrell of Wisconsin. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
