Services for James Daniel "J.D." Lesikar, 87, of Temple, will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with the Reverend Walter Chelmo officiating. Burial will follow at Seaton Cemetery. Mr. Lesikar died Sunday, May 18, at a local nursing facility. He was born May 14, 1927, in Red Ranger, Texas to Vinc E. Lesikar and Emilie Pechal Lesikar. He served in the United States Marines during World War II. After his marriage to Ludine Kosel, they lived for 33 years in Houston, Texas where he owned and operated an air conditioning/heating service business. They later moved back to the Temple area for the last 33 years. He was a local farmer and rancher. Mr. Lesikar was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Woodrow Lesikar and a sister, Mabel Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Ludine Kosel Lesikar; and one son, James D. Lesikar, II. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, at the funeral home. Donations in J.D.'s name may be made to the First Lutheran Church in Rosebud, 105 W. Avenue E, Rosebud, Texas 76570. Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
