Bio

Thomas was the son of Richard and Margarey Lagow. Born 1801 in Tennessee. Married Sarah Bennett, 4 Nov, 1830, Crawford Co, Ill. Her parents moved to Houston Co, Texas in 1833 with the Parker's to bring a new church to Texas. It was the first non Catholic in the territory. It was set up as Pilgrim Church. ~~~~~~~~ Thomas Lagow, quartermaster of the Army of the Republic of Texas received first class Headright Certificate #68-(4.42K acres and a labor of land issued 8 Feb, 1839. This land was situated on WhiteRock Fork of the Trinity River, which became Dallas Co. in 1846. Though he never settled the land, his children cleared and farmed it. Thomas owned one of the largest single grants.---- Now the city of Dallas. Source; Daughters of the Republic of Texas Patriot Ancestor Album, Volume 2. Stella M. Lagow McClure GGD ~~~~~~~~ They had the following children; 1. Harrison b. 13 May, 1833 do not know if he was born in Ill. or Texas. m. Margaret Samanmtha Mathews. Unk. burials. 2. William b. 28 Aug. 1835 in Texas. Became a Pastor. m. Lucinda Murchison, of Houston Co. 3. John b. 7 Feb. 1838 in Texas d. bef. 1845 4. Silas b. 19 Jan. 1840 in Texas m. I am quite sure John and Marry Ann are buried with Thomas and Sarah, but their graves are not located, but it has been written in Houston Co, Texas. Maybe Refuge cemetery, which is the first cemetery, quite possibly.
