JOHN MORRIS John H. Morris, 67, of Victoria died Monday, July 29, 1996. He was born March 4, 1929, in Tuleta to the late R. F. and Nannie Elizabeth Taylor Morris. He retired from the oil field after 37 years, having served as a rig supervisor. Mr. Morris was a member of Galilean Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Edith Lorraine Smith Morris; daughters, Barbara Pressler of Texas City and Martha Elaine Borchardt of Yoakum; sons, Marvin Morris of Spring, Gary Morris of Corpus Christi, Richard Morris of Dallas, John Morris of Kingsville and Wayne Morris, Ronny Morris and Jeremy Morris, all of Victoria; brothers, Oliver Morris and Edgar Owen Morris, both of Tuleta, and Bennet L. Morris of Tarpley; 37 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: sisters, Katherine Bell and Sally Frerichs; and brothers, William R. Morris, Fluker Morris, Frank Morris and James Morris. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home chapel on Red River. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Galilean Baptist Church, with Brother Mark Wildt officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria, 578-3535.
