Married Maggie Grant on September 13, 1884 in Travis County, TX. From the Dallas Morning News , Tuesday, May 22, 1923, Sec. 1, p. 5: Fort Worth, Texas, May 21 -- Funeral services for D. M. [sic] Sawyer, 63 years old, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. O. H. Johnson, 2510 Prairie avenue, at 4 o'clock Monday morning, will be held at the residence at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. He is survived by his wife, two sons, J. B. and Joe Sawyer of Tulsa, Ok.; a daughter, Mrs. Johnson of Fort Worth; two brothers and three sisters of Austin.
