Bio
Larry Prda, 61, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at at his home in Ennis. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2014, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in Crisp Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Larry Gene was born in Ellis County, Texas, to the late Agnes Prda. He married Patricia Skrivanek on November 5, 1977. Larry was employed with Ennis Automotive from 1967 until December 1980. January 1981 to present, he was employed with Staples, formerly Data Documents. With his love of music, he played bass guitar in many bands such as the Melody Masters, The Jodie Mikula Band, The Lone Star Czechs, and the original Stoodiebaker Band for many years. He enjoyed hanging out with Ronnie, Emron and friends at Doc's Beverage for coffee then spoiling his wife with breakfast and newspaper on weekends. He also enjoyed his grandchildren very much, along with watching the Texas Rangers and other sports on television. He loved to listen to music and dance and was an excellent waltzer. He was preceded in death by father-in-law, George Skrivanek, Sr. and mother-in-law, Juanita Skrivanek. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughters, Angela Davis and husband, Marcus, and LeAnn Peterson and husband, O'Neil; grandchildren: Tevin Davis, Jayden Davis, Haven Davis, Arianna Prda and Ashton Peterson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Danny and Barbara Salik, George and Redia Skrivanek, Nita Cate and Garry Skrivanek; and nieces and nephews, Meagan, Hunter, Nikki, Joey, Tricia, George III, Johnathen, Marissa and Dalton.
