Bio

Funeral services for Martin Boone, 87, of Delhi, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Kidder-Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with the Rev. W. A. Dearman officiating. Burial was in the Newton Cemetery in Delhi. Mr. Boone died Tuesday morning at the Richland Nursing Home in Delhi after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Puckett, Miss., a member of Red Hill Baptist Church in Delhi, and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mattie Boone of Delhi; two daughters, Mrs. John Tully of Bastrop, and Mrs. E. C. Rundell of Houston, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Verdie Walker of New Orleans; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were Danny Boone, Marvin Allen, Bernell Upton, Lynn Blake, Henry Newton and W. H.
