Bio

John was born to John and Clara (Tyma) Novakowski. At a young age his father died and he moved with his mother to Cleveland, Ohio. He attended schools there and, after completing his education, moved back to the Howard county area and worked as a farm hand. He served in the U.S. Army from May 1944 to May 1946. Upon his discharge, he returned to Howard County and farmed near Boelus. He married Janette Kosmicki in 1952 and they farmed south of Farwell. He was also a used farm machinery dealer for many years and enjoyed attending farm auctions. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of St. Paul and a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Farwell. The couple moved to St. Paul in February of 1996.
