Bio

"Frank E. Klinkovsky, Sr. of Temple, Texas was born to eternal life on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the age of 87. He started his life's journey, June 30, 1926 in Red Ranger, Texas, born to John and Marie Chaloupka Klinkovsky. He married Irma Hruska Klinkovsky on June 24, 1951, who made her heavenly reunion in 2006. During the past seven years, he enjoyed the companionship of a dear friend. Frank had a passion for his family, his friends, SPJST, his country, and above all, his faith. His zeal for life was contagious, and he represented the values we all strive for. Friends and family knew him as "Popo"; he was recognized as quite the chef for his pecan pies, apple strudel, kolaches, and many traditional Czech dishes. Known for always being concerned about others, he was a man of service. He served his country in the Navy, served his community through SPJST, served children as a Youth Counselor, served his family as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and most importantly, served his Lord and Savior. Frank was employed in retail sales at Montgomery Ward for 40 years. He spent most of his life serving SPJST as District Youth Counselor, State Fraternal Activities Coordinator, Life Insurance Agent, was on the Board of Directors as a District II Director, and held many positions at Lodge 47, Seaton where he was a life-long member. Most recently, Frank worked as curator for the Czech Heritage Museum in Temple. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Klinkovsky, and sisters, Ann Krcha, Marie Olejnik, and Lydia Vanicek. Frank is survived by one brother, a son, grandson, granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, and one great-grandson. Visitation was held at 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, May 13 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. The funeral service was held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, May 14, at Seaton Brethren Church with Rev. Denise Mikeska officiating. Burial followed at Seaton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Czech Heritage Museum or the SPJST Scholarship Fund." Scanio-Harper Funeral Home .
