FRANCES LOVE CASNER born November 10, 1939, in West Columbia, TX, to Frank Felix Kostelnik and Gladys Love Phillips Kostelnik. Fran, 74, was received by her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2014 and is rejoicing in the presence of God. Fran attended school in West Columbia and Boling. Fran married the love of her life, Stanley Earl Casner on January 13, 1955, in Pledger, TX while Stan was home on leave from the USAF. Stan was a career military man. They moved often and Fran enjoyed traveling, moving and making new friends wherever they were. Fran and Stan traveled to Hawaii, Viet Nam, Thailand, Taiwan, and the Philippines while stationed in Okinawa as well as spending time in France and England. Fran was a part of the Protestant Women of the Chapel and volunteered in family services. Fran and Stan found being overseas exciting and fun. They also enjoyed traveling the United States, especially the Western States, and also went on many cruises with family and friends. Fran enjoyed swimming and bowling with their two children, Stan Jr. and Gaye. Fran sewed her own clothes and taught herself to knit, crochet, and loved doing ceramics. Fran had a bright smile and an open heart, loving the Lord with all of her heart and wanted everyone to know Jesus. Fran was a photographer for Shugart Studios until her retirement and she especially enjoyed working with children. Fran volunteered with Hospice for four and a half years, also, volunteered at Brazosport Regional Hospital for over fifteen years, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1966, enjoyed TOPS and an active member of Oyster Creek United Methodist Church. Fran always enjoyed cooking and serving holiday meals for family and friends, her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Fran was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frank Allen (Bo) Kostelnik. Fran is survived by her loving husband, Stanley Earl Casner of Oyster Creek, son, Stan Jr. wife Ruth of Santa Fe. TX; daughter, Regina Gaye Landeche husband John of Danbury; granddaughters, Amanda Brock husband Dan of Santa Fe, TX and Adrianne Boyer husband Jeremy of Dickinson; grandson, Stanley III (Trey) wife Amy of League City, sisters, Sandra Faye Warneke and Florence Chandler husband Floyd of West Columbia, Jo Ann "Doll" Buell of Little Rock, AR; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; and many other living relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Rex Griffith, Dan Brock, Jeremy Boyer, Allen Dale Volkmer, Rick Numann, and Billy Wayne Casner. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley IV (T.J.) Casner and Gavin Stewart. Fran was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral service will be held at Stroud Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 2:00PM with Pastor Mark Davis officiating. Graveside service will follow at Brazoria Cemetery.
