Edward F. Imig, Jr 84 September 23, 1929 ~ May 9, 2014 He was a veteran. Edward F. Imig was born in Nebraska to Edward and Frances Imig. At the time of the 1930 US Census, Edward, Jr. was only six months old. The family lived in Omaha, where his father worked as a tester for an electrical company. Soon his brother, John, would join the family. His parents were both native Nebraskans. His father's people came from Germany, and his mother's from Poland (though she corrected the 1930 Census-taker to indicate Austria). Edward joined the Marines in 1950, and served and was a proud member. When he returned, he lived in Omaha, Nebraska again. Preceded in death by wife, Merlene Imig; parents, Edward and Frances Imig; brother, John Imig; stepson, Terry Pitt. Survived by children: Ervin Imig (Marcia), Susan Scheppke, John Imig (Victoria), Gary Pitt (Leah), Jerry Pitt (Martha), Sherry Lathrop (Tim), Michael Williams (Alicia); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters: Dolores Brust, Sr. Rose Marie Imig, and Virginia Draus; cousin, Mary Ann Pavich; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 13th from 6pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel,7805 West Center Road, Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral will be Wednesday, May 14th at 11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2725 N. 60 Ave. Interment, Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors. Memorials will be directed by the family.
