Bio

Annie Louise Dodson, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Jimmy McNeil of Pleasantview Baptist in Arlington and Tommy Weir of Calvary Baptist. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Arlington Chapel. Annie Louise Dodson, known to most as "Granny," was born in Grand Saline to Fred and Maggie Yarbrough. Annie Louise was the last remaining of eight children. She graduated from Grand Saline High School and married Carl Dodson in 1938. Granny was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great friend. She taught Sunday school for 40-plus years at Calvary Baptist. She later moved to Pleasantview Baptist to be near family. She loved spending time with her family and her special friends. Granny loved to shop, cook and clean her house. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Care Givers Tamara Boone, Darla Silva and VITAS Hospice care. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dodson; daughter, Barbara Ann Mitchell; and one great grandchild, Caleb Dolifka. Survivors: Son, Lynn Dodson and wife, Elaine; grandchildren, Carl and Karen Dolifka, Dallas and Tonya Dodson, David and Heather Mitchell, and Tim and Darcy Green; special niece, Nancy Brown; extended family, Steven Russell and family, Darla Silva and family, David and family; great-grandchildren, Randall and Raymond Dolifka, Cole and Cooper Dodson, and Evan and Mara Mitchell; and a host of extended great-grandchildren.
