Bio

Father-Dr. Michael Lambkin Woods; Mother-Sarah Mary Preston; spouse -Sophia K Alford; children-Willie Woods - 1871; James Woods - 1873; Blance Woods Renfro -1875;Fay Woods 1887; Claude B Woods-1882; was Civil War Confederate Veteran; was in Civil War in 7th Mounted Volunteer Calvary under Col Steele, in H H Sibley's brigade, went in to New Mexico and Arizona; was with Steele when retook Galveston; was in battles of Bayou Teche, Mansfield, Pleasant Hill, Donaldsville, Burbean, Yellow Bayou and Brashear City. Taken prisoner at New Iberia in Lousiana, kept in customs house in New Orleans for four months and then exchanged, was wounded in the hip with a minnie ball. Was Tarrant County Clerk in 1875.
