Fairfield Recorder - Mar. 1, 1895 "Died - Samuel, the eldest son of Mr. J. W. Kennedy, last Tuesday night. He had been in bad health for several months and a few days ago took a congestive chill, though he seemed to recover from the chill it was only a short while till the little sufferer passed from life and from pain. It is superstitious to say peace to such as he for there can be no sorrow in eternity for the innocent and the pure. It is he and such as he that will be gathered together when God makes up his jewels. He was buried Wednesday at Stewards Mill."
