Ora Mae Zahn May 4, 1917 - September 11, 2009 KEIZER - Ora Mae Zahn, age 92, passed away on September 11, 2009. She was born in Comstock, Nebraska to Glen R. and Ella Mae Dockhorn, the third of twelve children. She was raised and lived in Nebraska and Iowa until moving to Salem, Oregon in 1948 with her husband and two sons. Mae married Aaron Edwin Zahn in 1937; he preceded her in death on December 5, 1994. Mae is survived by her two sons, Earl L. (Sally) Zahn of Yelm, Washington and Daniel W. (Donna) Zahn of Keizer; four grandchildren, Mike (Renee) Zahn, Scott (Lana) Zahn, Dave Zahn, and Doug (Angie) Zahn; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mae worked for the Oregon State Highway Department, retiring in 1978. She enjoyed knitting, bowling, Bingo, fishing, and camping, but her biggest enjoyment was having her family all together. A special "thank you" to Avamere Court of Keizer for the love and caring shown to our mother and grandmother over the years. A private family service will be held on Tues., Sept. 15. Private entombment will follow at Belcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mae's memory to Serenity Palliative Care Hospice, 5895 Shoreview Lane North, Keizer, OR 97303.
