Larry D. Maxwell 1937 - 2014 VETERAN Early Life: Larry was born in Layton, Utah, to David "Dave" W. and Marvel Celesta Effle Maxwell. Later, his family moved to the area of North Fork, Idaho. He was raised on the ranch where he learned his work, ethical and moral standards. Life's Work | Service | Interests: In 1956, Larry joined the United States Navy; later that year, he and Vickie Yingling were married. Their daughter, Karlynn, was born in 1957. Later they divorced. He thought that the best of life was to spend time outdoors and in the mountains where he logged, prospected and trapped. A large part of his heart was with his horses on the trail. He and Claudia Thorning were married, in 1961, and spent the next 53 years together. Larry D. Maxwell, of Darby, Montana, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at his home in Darby. He was 76. Survived By: His wife; sons, Harry D. and Dale (Branden); four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his sisters: Shirley, Arlene and Ethelene; many nieces and nephews. Preceded In Death By: His parents; his brother, Dwayne; and his daughter, Karlynn. Services: No service at his request, but he hoped that we would take a few minutes to enjoy the outdoors and remember our blessings.
