A marker has been placed beside Diza Jane's mother and step-father, Cynthia and Bluford Lee McIntyre. Included on the stone are the names of four of her children who are interred here and had no grave markers.

Bio

It has been stated that Diza was married last to John Cecile Carlisle. Diligent research has revealed that Diza Jane Speed was never married to John Cecil Carlisle. Although there have been no marriage or divorce records found, she has children with the following fathers, dates calculated by the year the children were born: 1924: Charles Edward Nance (child Charlie Nance was born in 1927) 1928: Garland Oliver Smithurman (son Millard was born Aug 1929) 1930: James L. Rockey (oldest Rockey child was born in 1931) James Rockey died in 1958. In 1963 when her step-father, Bluford McIntyre, died, his obituary listed her as step-daughter "Mrs. E.B. Carlisle". So sometime between 1958 and 1963 she married E. B. Carlisle. To date I have found no record of E.B. Carlisle that I can tie to Diza Jane. But in researching John Cecil Carlisle, there is no connection to Diza Jane Speed. Her corrected birth certificate verified and witnessed by her sister, Mrs, Ethridge, states her name was Dizzie Jane. submiited by Brenda B Find a Grave ID47890517
