William C. "Bill" Hendren, Jr., 78, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Moberly, died Monday, April 14, 2014. He was born July 31, 1935 in Moberly to William C. Sr., and Eula Ruth (Floyd) Hendren. Bill enlisted in the United States Navy in December 1953 receiving an honorable discharge in 1961. He worked for General Motors, retiring after 31 years of employment. He married Wanda Sue Kirkendoll on October 1, 1960 in Moberly and she preceded him in death in 2011. Also preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his children, Rodney W. Hendren of Kansas City, MO, Debra "Debbie" Hay and her husband Steve of Fort Madison, IA and Kevin Hendren and his wife MaryEllen of Kansas City, MO, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his sister, Nikki Ritterbusch of San Antonio, FL, his brother, Terry Hendren and his wife Patricia "Pat" of O'Fallon, MO, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Bill was active with his sons in the Boy Scouts of America for many years, creating many fond memories and learning experiences with them. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, hunting, bowling and restoring Harley Davidson motorcycles. Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at the visitation which will be, Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cater Funeral Home. Services honoring and celebrating Bill's life will be, Friday, 1:30 p.m. at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel, with committal prayers, military honors, and burial to follow in the Hagar Cemetery.
