World War II Military Unit: 58th Sqn Bn Military Service Branch: Army Collision Kills Auto Rider Slick Roads Draw Blame- Special to The Tribune PAYSON- Slick roads Wednesday were blamed for a collision that killed a 55 yearold Nephi man. Orrin Anderson died in a Payson hospital about am after suffering a skull fracture when he was thrown from a car on US Highway 91 two miles south of Payson. Trooper Charles Warren of the Utah Highway Patrol said Mr. Anderson was a passenger in a northbound car driven by Donna Sholes 24 Nephi when it apparently struck a slick spot on the road about 9 am. Slides Into Car The northbound car spun out of control and slid into the southbound lane where it collided with a car driven by Dale Arthur Saunders 21 Route 1 Payson, Trooper Warren said. Mr. Anderson was run over by one of the vehicles the trooper said. Both drivers were taken to Payson Hospital where they were treated for cuts and bruises and released. This was the 35th traffic fatality of the year for Utah County. Mark Orrin Anderson, 55, Nephi, was born Sept 25 1909 at Nephi to Mark Walter and Annie Elizabeth Hansen Anderson. Mr. Anderson, an electrician, was a lifelong Nephi resident. He was a bachelor, member the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and veteran of World War II.
