Ann Holub July 26, 1925 - April 9, 2014 Ann (Mrs. Ermin) Holub, age 88, of rural Scribner, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, Nebraska. Interment will be in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 2:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14th. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 3 p.m. and a Public Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. on Monday both at the church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Dodge is in charge of arrangements. Ann Marie Holub was born on July 26, 1925 in a farmhouse near Brainard, NE to James and Mary (Voboril) Polacek. She was baptized and confirmed at the Loma Church. Ann attended District #6 school near Brainard and after the family moved to Weston, NE, she attended District #28 school. She helped on the family farm until moving to Omaha, NE in 1951 working for an elderly lady and also in a restaurant. Ann later moved to Fremont and worked at the Pendelton Woolen Mill. On February 1, 1958, she was united in marriage to Ermin F. Holub at Weston, NE. The couple lived on a farm south of Snyder, where she helped care for her in-laws and also babysat for her grandchildren. Ann was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, its Altar Society, and Christian Mother's. She loved to cook, especially kolaches, apple struedel, and sauerkraut and dumplings. Ann enjoyed sewing, gardening, tending to her flowers and Czech music. Survivors include- Husband-Ermin F. Holub of rural Scribner, NE Son-Donald and wife Susan Holub of rural Scribner, NE 3 Grandchildren Sister- Lillian Belik of Omaha, NE Brothers- Milo and wife Rosalie Polacek of Fremont, NE Leonard and wife Louise Polacek of Wahoo, NE Sister-in-law-Geraldine Polacek of Weston, NE Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brother-Ray Polacek, sisters- Alice Rech, Mary Woskowiak, and Helen Pacula.
