According to his sisters Sue Mae, Lillian and Gertrude, William Rudolph Ketterer, a young man, traveled to New York City to seek his fame and fortune. Soon, after arriving there, he was mugged on the street, and died in the hospital there. He was thirty-three years old. The Family Bible of: Frederick Wright Ketterer, (father of William Rudolph Ketterer) reflects that William is buried in Waycross Georgia. ------------------- Tuesday - November 5, 1935 Ketterer, 33, paymaster for the School Board of Public Instruction in New York City , died in New York a week ago. Funeral was held Monday afternoon at Hinson's Chapel conducted by the Rev. B. E. Donchoo , paster of the Central Baptist Church. W. L. Hinson & Company is in charge.
