Bio

Jane E. Fecht, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Kearney County Health Services-Hospital, Minden, Nebraska. Jane was born on November 1, 1933 in Minden, Nebraska to Olaf and Eva (Jacobs) Johnson. Jane was baptized and confirmed at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Minden, Nebraska. She grew up in the Minden, Nebraska area and graduated from Minden (NE.) High School in 1951. On April 4, 1954 she married Clayton H. Fecht. They lived near Overton, Nebraska then Holdrege, Nebraska and later moved to the Axtell, Nebraska area in 1959. They farmed near Axtell, Nebraska. Jane worked at Bethphage Mission, Axtell, Nebraska, Methodist Memorial Homes and Christian Homes in Holdrege, Nebraska. Jane retired and moved to Minden, Nebraska. Jane was a life-long member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Minden, Nebraska. She taught Sunday school and helped with confirmation classes. Jane's church and faith in God were very important to her. Jane loved being with her family. She enjoyed baking with her grandchildren, quilting, painting, listening to music, reading, playing cards and playing board games. Jane was preceded in death by: husband, Clayton H. Fecht; four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Minden, Nebraska with Rev. Donald Hunzeker as officiator. Burial was in the Fredericksburg Lutheran Cemetery, south of Minden, Nebraska.
