Henry Earl Frankhauser applied for homestead entry on Feb. 1, 1912 for SE and NE15-22-12W4, near Steveville, Alberta, northeast of Millicent. He listed his place of birth as Minnesota, and had last been living in North Dakota, as a Painter and Paper Hanger, as well as a Farmer. His statutory declaration, made in Sept. 1912. indicated that Henry was supplementing his income by working at Brooks, Alberta, as a Movie Pictures Machinist. He was married and had one. Henry's homestead patent application, made in 1915, showed that he had three children by this time. His land patent for SE15-22-12W4 was issued on September 4, 1918. His wife, Bertha Frankhauser, wrote to the Interior Dept. of Seed Grain Office on June 19, 1919, regarding her husband's seed grain encumbrances, stating that her husband died December 22, 1918, and that she was left with five small children. Correspondence was later sent to Mrs. R. H. Imes, and the Alberta Marriage Index shows that Bertha Frankhauser remarried to Richard H. Imes at Brooks, Alberta in 1920.
