Adeline Katherine Bauman, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Memorial Community Care, Aurora, Nebraska. Adeline was born at home on April 25, 1935 in Corner Township, Custer County, Nebraska to Charlie William & Rosie (Cadek) Fajmon. Adeline grew up an only child on the family farm. Adeline spoke only Czech when she started school at Shady Hollow District #154, a rural Custer County, Nebraska School. She completed 8th grade and then continued her education at Burwell (NE.) High School. Adeline met Carl Bauman at Burwell High School. After they each had graduated from high school, they were married on September 6, 1953, at the Congregational Church by the Reverend E. K. Bauman, Carl's father. From this union, 4 daughters were born: Cathy Lee, Betty Jane, Patricia Elaine, and Sherry Ann. The family moved to Juniata, Nebraska in 1964; in 1969, Adeline started her career with the U.S. Postal Service in Juniata, Nebraska and also worked at the Hastings and Grand Island, Nebraska Post Offices before retiring in 1997. Adeline was an active member of the Juniata (NE.) United Methodist Church, the UMW Circle, the American Legion Auxiliary, National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), the Southern Central Nebraska Czech Society, and the Czech Western Bohemian Fraternal Organization (CZBJ). In 2010, Adeline received her 75 year membership pin from the CZBJ. Adeline was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Carl L. Bauman and daughter, Cathy. Services will be held at a later date at Juniata United Methodist Church, Juniata, Nebraska. Burial was in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska.
