Bio

Lucille E. Linden, 86, of Pleasanton died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her home near Pleasanton. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Pleasanton. Rev. Robert Pier will officiate and burial will follow at the Mason City Cemetery. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Home of Kearney is in charge of arrangements. Lucille was born on May 26, 1927 to Joe and Rose (Ott) Cherry at their home near Amherst, NE. At the age of 6 she moved with her family north of Mason City, NE where she started her school years. She attended the new school house that had just been built and graduated 12 years later in 1945. She accepted a job in Kearney at the Kearney Hub Newspaper. She later returned to Mason City, NE and worked at the Farmers Store for Oscar Wilson. She married Frankie E. Linden on February 14, 1948 in Loup City, NE. Frankie and Lucille moved to a farm northwest of Pleasanton after their marriage. Lucille loved life on the farm with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also greatly enjoyed visitors to the farm; always ready to serve coffee and a snack. Music was an enjoyable part of her life at home and with family. She liked staying busy with work in the house and also on the farm. Lucille was a member of the South Loup Community Church and was saved by her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She loved to read Gods word and promises in the Bible along with her favorite verse, John 3:16. Surviving relatives include her Sons, Steve Linden and Fiancée Faylin Henricksen of Kearney; Terry and Cheryl Linden of Pleasanton; Grandchildren and spouses, Kevin and Rikki Linden of Overland Park, KS, Todd and Sarah Linden of Lincoln, NE, Christa and Tyler Anderson of Kearney, NE, Jennifer Linden of Kearney, NE, Kayla Linden of Pleasanton, NE; Step Granddaughter, Lisa Christy of Chicago, IL; Great Grandchilden, Connor Linden, Tanner Linden, Ryder Linden, Cooper Linden, Maddox Linden and Reed Anderson; Sisters, LaDean Chamberlin of Kearney, NE, Frieda and Alfred Bauer of Pleasanton; Sister In Law, Sadie Linden of Grand Island, NE Lucille was preceded in death by her Parents and Husband, Frankie in 2010.
