Louise A. Rassette, 95, of Ord passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Ord Christian Church. Pastor Marty Robbins will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Louise Agnes was born July 4, 1918, to Ludvick and Agnes (Psota) Gross at her grandmother's home in Buffalo County, Nebraska. She received her education at Fairview District #21 in Buffalo County and Ravenna High School. In 1933, the family moved to Ord and Louise graduated from Ord High School in 1935. On July 3, 1939, Louise was united in marriage to Elwood Rassette at Bartlett, Nebraska. The couple spent their married life in Ord with the exception of residing in Broken Bow for a couple of years. Louise did domestic work. She spent much of her time with the Walt and Marge Douthit family and working at Douthit's Diner. She belonged to the Ord Does, VFW Auxiliary and a quilting club. She was a volunteer for the bloodmobile and the nursing home. She spent many years as a leader for the Boys and Girls Scouts. Survivors include a son, James Rassette of Beatrice; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marlea and Al Kittle of Ord, Janet and Don Papiernik of Moreno Valley, CA, and Val and Jack Ptacnik of Ord; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Gross of Ord, and Eugene "Shorty" Gross of Burwell; and three sisters, Mildred Jonas of Idaho, Doris Dlugosh of Washington, and Clara Jones of Ord. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elwood who passed away in 1991; one sister, Marie Sok; and a brother, LaVern "Curly" Gross.
