Viola was born Jan. 15, 1907, at Ludlow, Miss., to Charles I. and Cora Lee Henderson Allison. She grew up in the Ludlow area and graduated from Ludlow High School in 1922. After graduation and the death of her father, she moved with her family to Jackson, Miss. She married Z.T. (Pete) Faulkner Feb. 1, 1932, in Jackson. The couple divorced in 1948. She never remarried. In 1948, Viola and her daughter moved to Los Angeles, where she attended L.I.F.E. Bible College. She graduated with honors in February 1952, then was co-pastor of the Foursquare Church in Silverton, Colo., for two years. She worked at a variety of jobs during her working years, her last employment being that of a companion when she was 80 years old. She enjoyed traveling and meeting people. In 1992, she realized a lifelong dream of traveling abroad on a trip to Greece. She also enjoyed knitting and playing in the Highlander Kitchen Band.
