Bio

Inez Stevens, age 95, of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014. Mrs. Stevens was born September 3, 1918 in Spring Hill, Arkansas to Louis & Lillian Yocom. She was a member of the Springhill United Methodist Church. She spent much of her time when she was not working or caring for her family working in the church, involved in any number of projects. She also shared her time at the local hospital volunteering and seeing to the needs of other folks. She was always giving back to others whether it be working at her job in the school system or working in her community. She will be missed by all whose life she touched. Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Stevens, a daughter, Sue Stevens, Hinkie. Her parents and all but one sibling went on to be with the Lord before her passing. She is survived by a Son, Dwain Stevens and his wife Patsy of Texarkana, Arkansas. One Sister is left to mourn her passing and that is Barbra Dusek and her husband Henry of Goliad, Texas. Two very special grandchildren will also miss her deeply and they are Lori Stevens Ledford of Texarkana, Texas and Ryan Hinki of Claremore, Oklahoma. Four wonderful great grandchildren also survive her. Graveside services for Mrs. Stevens were held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in the Springhill Cemetery near Springhill, LA. The Reverend William H. Mclain officiated at the service. Arrangements were under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home of Stamps, Arkansas.
