Earl Heath, 64, Retired Gas Firm Manager, Dies The Gatesville Messenger and Star-Forum • Gatesville, Texas • Thu, Aug 27, 1970 • Page 19 Earl Heath, who was Gatesville district manager for the Lone Star Gas Co. from 1937 to 1951, died Aug. 16 in a Cleburne hospital a few days after suffering a severe heart attack. He was 64. Mr. Heath had lived in Cleburne for 19 years and was manager of Lone Star's Cleburne district from 1951 until his retirement Sept. 30, 1969. He was with the gas company for 40 years, working at Clifton and Hamilton before coming to Gatesville. Funeral services were held Aug. 17 at Crosier-Pearson Chapel in Cleburne with Rev. Ed Otwell officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery there. Mr. Heath was a native to Collin County. He married Earlene Winfield of Gatesville on Oct. 11, 1931, at Glen Rose. At Cleburne, Mr. Heath was a member of the administrative board of the First United Methodist Church. He was a past president and past secretary of the Rotary Club and a former director of the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce. He was an original incorporator of the Cleburne Industrial Foundation and had served as a director of the Johnson County United Fund. Surviving are his wife; one son; Earl W. Heath Jr. of Denton; three brothers; Mark Heath of Denton, Jack Heath of Winnie, and Weldon Heath of Liberty; three sisters; Mrs. Lena Hutchinson of Dallas, Mrs. Everett Smith of Midland, and Mrs. Gene Smith of Corpus Christi; and one granddaughter. Among those from Gatesville attending the funeral services were Mrs. H. C. Floyd, Mrs. Bert Floyd, Eddie Winfield, Miss Myrtle Wendeborn, and Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Franks.
