Majorie Elizabeth Butler Pickett Marjorie Elizabeth Butler Pickett of Gilmer passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Gilmer, Texas. Marjorie was born in Upshur County, Texas to Judge Monroe and Leila Covin Butler on September 16, 1919. She married Earl Pickett on October 27, 1949 and he preceded her in death. Marjorie was also preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Lawton Robertson, Huel Lee Butler, Hildray Butler, Bonner Butler and Boyd Butler; sister, Sarah Butler Brown. She is survived by four sons, Dennis, Sidney, Dale, Davy; daughter, Gayle; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren. Graveside services for family and friends will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Kelsey Cemetery in Upshur County with Max Martin officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
