Inez Houghton Henslee, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 23, 2014. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be private. Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. (Published in Amarillo Globe-News, March 25, 2014) Inez Houghton Henslee, 88, of Amarillo, died Sunday, March 23, 2014. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Inez Houghton Henslee was born March 10, 1926, to E.C. and Lura Wilcox in Childress. She was a life-long resident of Amarillo, Texas moving to Amarillo in 1941, and married to Dr. W.E. Houghton for 35 years until his death in 1973. She was active in the First Christian Church of Amarillo, and enjoyed friends and family to the utmost. She was preceded in death by her parents and thirteen brothers and sisters. She is survived by a sister, Montez Temple, of Winnsboro; by Homer Henslee, whom she married in January of 1994; a son, Dr. Don Houghton and wife, Becky, of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda Houghton Doudney, and husband Wayne of Mustang, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Drew Houghton of Oklahoma City, Shanon Houghton of Austin, Gentrye Houghton Kenney and husband Ryan of Amarillo, Andrew Doudney and wife, L'lana, of Oklahoma City, and Ashley Doudney Wetzel and husband James, of San Diego, California; and five great-grandchildren, Cayeden, Emerson and Addison Doudney, Cash and Weston Wetzel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
