Bio

Rosenberg Herald, August 4, 1955: Funeral services for Ben N. Zurovec, 53, were held from the Czech Brethren Church at 9 a.m. Monday, with Rev. J.R. Vilt officiating. Mr. Zurovec died of a heart attack. Interment was in the W.O.W. Cemetery, with the Triska Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Zurovec was born Oct. 9, 1902 in Cistern, Texas. In 1928, he married Miss Stannie Jurek of Wallis and they made their home near Rosenberg, later moving to Waller. After seven years, they moved to Fairchild where they were living at the time of his death. Survivors include four sons, Julius, Leonard, and Edward of Fairchild, and Alfonse of Rosenberg; three daughters, Miss Sedonia Zurovec, Miss Margie Zurovec, and Miss Bernice Zurovec, all of Fairchild; four brothers, Frank of Cistern, Joe of El Campo, Charlie of San Antonio, and Louis of Orchard; and four sisters, Mrs. Francis Orsak, Houston, Mrs. Annie Mikulek and Mrs. Julia Zouzalik, both of Flatonia, and Mrs. Mary Machacek of Cistern.
