Mildred Krajca Mikel, 82, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Thursday, March 20, 2014, surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2014, fin the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 5 p.m. A Celebration of her life will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2014, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Father John Dick. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Mildred was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late R. Joe and Mary (Haskovec) Krajca. She grew up in Ennis and attended Mote and Ennis schools. On January 19, 1948, she married Fred Louis Mikel and they made their home in Ennis. She worked for 20 years for Tom's Foods as a packer, for five years with Atlas Sound in assembly, for two years for IOOF in housekeeping, and provided child care for two years. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and the WFLA. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and collecting Czech glassware. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Louis Mikel in October of 2001; two brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include son, Randy Mikel; daughters, Carolyn Bohanon and husband, Dennis, and Sharon Doherty and husband, Don; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
