Final Rites for Frank Guenther, 80, Christmas Eve Funeral services for Frank A. Guenther, 80, retired farmer, who succumbed to six-months illness last Friday at Youens Hospital, were held Sunday morning, Dec. 24, from Hubbard Funeral Home and St. Michael's Church. [Interment made in St. Michael's Cemetery] Very Rev. Anthony F. Drozd was celebrant of the Solemn Requiem mass, assisted by Rev. Alois J. Goertz as Deacon, and Rev. Arnold Anders of Victoria, a grandson on the deceased, as subdeacon. A retired farmer, Mr. Guenther had spent 54 years of his life in this vicinity. Born January 2, 1870 in St. Louis, MO., the son of Joe and Magdaline Guenther, he moved here as a young man. In 1892 at High Hill he married Miss Mary Dreitner, and they settled at Schulenburg. His wife preceded him in death July 14, 1940. Mr. Guenther was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. F.J. Anders, Mrs. Otto Schneider, Mrs. Reinhard F. Schneider, all of Weimar; sons, Joe of Houston, Frank of Seguin, Charles of Schulenburg, Anton of San Benito, and Edward of Weimar; one sister, Mrs. Joe Blaschke of Schulenburg; two brothers, Henry of Westhoff and Edward J. of Gordon; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
