Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa January 29, 1913 VIRGIL ELIAS KALE Virgil Elias Kale, second son of N. L. and Katherine Zeller Kale was born October 8, 1912 and died Jan. 23, 1913. He was a very promising and healthy child at first, but about the middle of November, was seized with a painful illness and continued to be a great sufferer till the last. Everything that medical science, maternal love, and friendly sympathy could suggest, was done in an unceasing effort to respond to the pleading look of helpless infancy; pain could not be assuaged and life could not be prolonged. The funeral services were held at the residence of the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Zeller, Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. G. Hohanshelt. ---------------------- Winterset Reporter – January 29, 1913 Pg 4 Vergel E., the three months old son of Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Kale, died Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Methodist hospital at Des Moines where he had been taken for treatment. The funeral occurred Sunday from the home of E. R. Zeller. Contributor: Marty & Harley
