By Republic News Service WINNER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Edward (Martha) Bohlander, 75, were May 20 at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth G. Moreland officiating. Interment was in the Winner cemetery under the direction of the Mason Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Moeller, Joe Swoboda, Ted Nelson, John Moosemier, Henry Kieser and C.A. Bohlander. Active pallbearers were John Combs, Farmer Grimm, Steve Pravacek, Leonard Konvalin, Con Connot and George Schwartz. She was born Aug. 11, 1890 at Ellston, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. James Kennedy, moved with her parents to Dixon and then in 1913 homesteaded in Mellette County. On Dec. 20, 1921 she married Edward Bohlander at Burke and they farmed near Dallas until moving to Winner in 1956. She died at the Winner hospital May 17. Survivors include her widower; six sisters, Mrs. Joe Gavin, Willow Springs, Mo., Mrs. Wade Horn, Long Valley; Mrs. Norman Montgomery, Klickitat, Wash.; Mrs. Laura Buettner and Mrs. Bob Olson, Toppenish, Wash.; and Mrs. Joe Heming, Seattle, Wash.; and four brothers, Fred Kennedy, Portland, Ore.; Lester kennedy, Sunnyside, Wash., Charles Kennedy, Dixon and Jeff Kennedy, Nenzel, Neb. She was preceded in death by one sister.
