Stephen Thomas Phillips Date of Death: Dec 7, 1970. Died at: Rogers, Benton Co., Arkansas Buried at: Friendship Cemetery, Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas. He married: Nealie Shepherd, Dec. 1, 1901 at Washburn, Sebastian County, Arkansas. Nealie was born 10 Jul 1884, near Booneville, Logan County, Arkansas. Died: Aug 13, 1973, Rogers, Benton Co., Arkansas. Buried: Friendship Cemetery, Springdale, Washington Co., Arkansas. Bio: Nealie and a younger sister were orphaned before 1900 and were raised in the household of William Wallace Clyma, whose son, Joseph, later married Juliet, a younger sister to Stephen Thomas Phillips, who became Nealie’s husband. They Had no children. Arlie, the younger sister to Nealie, lived with Steve and Neal for several years after their marriage. Apparently there was another sister named Hattie Shepherd. Hattie married Gabriel Phillips on Nov. 13, 1904, and S. T. Phillips was named as security on the wedding bond. Gabriel Phillips is not a known relative of Stephen Thomas Phillips. Stephen and Nealie had no children, but they helped a lot of other people’s children. (Information provided by Bill Hinds. Stephen was his mother’s uncle)
