Bio

Zena Goodspeed, 86, of Bayard, died Wednesday Nov. 9 in Fort Bayard Medical Center. She was born Oct. 9, 1886 in Texas, the daughter of Ace and Josephine Perry, and was a resident of Bayard for 33 years. Mrs. Goodspeed is survived by one daughter, Vivian Patten of Silver City; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren ; four sisters; Alma Carlon of Lordsburg, Idna O'Brien of Central, Madelyn Hicks of Globe, AZ, and Josie Parson of Lordsburg. Services were Nov. 12 in the Curtis-Bright Funeral home chapel under the direction of Rev. David Saucier of the First Methodist Church of Silver City. Burial followed in Memory Lane cemetery.
