Bio

Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church in Verdel, Sunday for Joesph Zoubek, a Verdel farmer for over half a century. The Rev. Riedesel was in charge of the service. Burial was in the Verdel cemetery. Joseph Zoubek was born in Czechoslovakia, Oct. 20, 1860. He departed this life, January 21, 1943 at the advanced age of 82 years, 3 months and one day. In the year 1885, he migrated over the waters to America, locating at Wahoo, Nebr., later settling near Prague, Nebr. He was united in marriage to Miss Katie Kotab in 1889. Three children were born to them; Mrs. Frank Scheinost of Spencer, Albert of Verdel and Mrs. Iene Miller of Allejoy, Ga. His wife passed away July 21, 1898. In 1900 he married Miss Mary Dolos. To this union five children were born, James and Joe of Verdel, Anna and Millie of Chicago and Mrs. Bud Raymond. ...The Verdigre Eagle 4 Feb 1943 (obituary contributed by gayle neuhaus)
